I'm Tian de Klerk, a data engineer and engineering leader in the Netherlands, and a home lab and home automation tinkerer in my spare time.

This is where I write down what I've been building and figuring out: AI agents, self-hosted infrastructure, and the automation that runs my house. Most writing about AI is about the technology; I'd rather write from inside the work, with the tools I actually use.

The whole site is plain files in a git repository, so I often draft and edit it alongside the same AI models I write about. If something here is wrong or you just want to talk shop, get in touch.

How the "% AI" works

Some posts carry a small badge like ~50% AI. It's my honest estimate of how much of the finished prose originated in AI-written text, measured against the first draft. If an AI wrote the first draft, it starts at 100%; as I rewrite, cut, and add my own words, it drops. A piece I wrote myself starts at 0%.

The key rule: fixing mechanics never changes who authored the substance. Text I wrote stays mine even after an AI fixes my spelling or grammar, and AI-written text stays AI even after I tidy it up. Only real rewriting, cutting, and adding moves the number. It's a considered estimate, not a provable metric, and I round it.
